GDPR / AVG

Rental agencies trust us with contracts, tenant details and bank data. Sargo is built under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, in Dutch: Algemene verordening gegevensbescherming, AVG). This page explains how we apply it. For your data as a website visitor, see our Privacy Policy.

1. Who is responsible for what

• Website and demo requests: Clura S.r.l.s., the company behind Sargo, is the controller.
• Data in the Sargo app (homes, tenants, owners, contractors, repairs, payments): the rental agency or landlord is the controller; Sargo is the processor and acts only on their instructions.

2. Data processing agreement

Every customer signs a data processing agreement (verwerkersovereenkomst) with us before going live, as required by Article 28 GDPR. It sets out what we process and why, how we keep it secure and confidential, how we help with requests and incidents, and that we delete or return all data when the contract ends.

3. Where your data is stored

Our goal is to store and process customer data within the European Union. We will publish the details here once our providers are chosen.

4. Security

• Encryption of data in transit;
• role-based access: tenants, owners and contractors only see what concerns them;
• a log of who changed what, and when;
• regular backups.

5. AI and people

• The assistant’s messages always say that they come from an automated assistant, in line with the EU AI Act.
• Decisions about responsibility for a repair and about costs are approved by a person at the agency (Article 22 GDPR).
• We do not use customer data to train AI models.

6. Data breaches

If a data breach affects customer data, we inform the customer without undue delay. Where we are the controller, we notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours where required (Article 33 GDPR).

7. Your rights

Tenants, owners and contractors exercise their rights with the agency or landlord that uses Sargo, and the app helps them find, correct, export and delete data. Requests sent to info@sargo.dev are passed on to the right agency.
